Conference Statement Regarding Regional Developments
The Organizing Committee of the 11th International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism (ICSM 2026) and the 4th International Conference on Quantum Materials and Technologies (ICQMT 2026) is aware that some participants have expressed concerns regarding recent developments in the Middle East.
We would like to reassure our participants that the conference venue in Ölüdeniz–Fethiye, Türkiye, is located approximately 2000 km from the nearest Iranian border and more than 3500 km from the Strait of Hormuz, where tensions have been reported. At present, daily life and travel conditions in Türkiye remain calm and stable, and the conference region continues to operate normally as an international tourism destination.
Türkiye is not a party to the ongoing conflict, and the country continues to advocate for peaceful diplomatic solutions. The safety and well-being of our participants remain our highest priority. According to the local authorities at the conference venue, there are currently no indications that the situation is affecting the conference region, and daily life continues normally and in a stable manner.
Under the current circumstances, the conference will proceed as planned at the scheduled date and venue. Participants are encouraged to arrange their travel with Turkish Airlines, which continues to operate normally. We are closely monitoring developments and expect that the situation will become clearer and more stable in the coming weeks.
Our utmost priority remains to ensure that all participants have a productive, safe, and rewarding conference experience. In the unlikely event of any unexpected developments that could affect the conference, participants will be informed promptly.
We look forward to welcoming participants from around the world and sincerely hope that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will continue to stabilize in the coming weeks.
We appreciate the understanding and support of our international community.
