PRACTICAL FACTS
- Visas; Citizens of some countries may not need a visa to visit Turkey, however citizens of some other countries do require a visa to visit Turkey. Note that it is possible to obtain an e-visa via this internet link before your travel to Bodrum/Turkey. - Taxes; In Turkey value-added tax is applied with different rates from 1% to 20% depending on what you buy. VAT paid to hotels and restaurants are not refundable. In some big shopping centers, reimbursement of VAT tax can be made at the customs before your departure flight at the airport. Please make sure you make the necessary paperwork at the store for the details on the refund procedure.
- Currency; In Turkey Turkish Lira is used for shopping. In most tourist shops it is possible to use US DOLLAR and EUROS. However, exchange rates could be lower there are many exchanges offices to change your currency to Turkish Lira in the vicinity of shopping stores. Bank notes are divided in to 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 Turkish Liras.
- Weather Forecast; In May during the conference time average temperatures range between 15 to 26 degrees Celsius, making it the most comfortable time to visit Fethiye. Please note that there is always a soft breeze (10 miles per hour on average) in Fethiye , you may need an extra kind of shawl or a jacket in the evening for outdoor activities. On the other hand, water temperatures are expected to be on average 21 degrees Celsius. The number of sunny days 23, number of rainy days 2, the other 5 days are partly cloudy.
- Public Transport;There are buses, midibuses operate between Dalaman Airport and Fethiye Bus Station every 30 minutes during the day time from 05:00 to 23:00 vice versa. The bus station is 15 kms away from the Venue Hotel. Taxi is easily spottable as a yellow cap.
