Main Excursion Tour
Blue Lagoon – Butterfly Valley (~6 hours)

The Blue Flag Oludeniz Beach and the Blue Lagoon, famous for their unique natural beauty, have made the region one of the most popular holiday destinations in Turkey.

Butterfly Valley Turkey is one of the most attractive places in the surroundings of Fethiye. Butterfly Valley in 1995 was declared as a nature reserve and is completely closed for construction. Butterfly Valley in Fethiye (Kelebekler Vadisi in Turkish) near the famous Oludeniz Beach is one of the most magical and beautiful bays of Turkey. It is located on the western coast of the Gulf of Belceiz close to Oludeniz and you can get there by boat only.

Its romantic name the Valley due to the extraordinarily beautiful tiger butterfly of the «Arctiidae» family. Most of the tiger butterflies can be seen in early June. Colonies of these fascinating moths are flitting in a protected valley until late October. Almost all species of butterflies that live on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea can be found in the Butterfly Valley Fethiye Turkey.

To fully enjoy the beauty of these moths and take some memorable pictures of the beautiful nature reserve you need to go to one of the waterfalls in the Butterfly Valley in Oludeniz Turkey. The numerous trails lead from coast to waterfalls meandering among the impeccably beautiful scenery. By selecting one of them you can get to the second waterfall among the fragrant aromas of herbs and flowers. All along the way, you will see a lot of bright butterflies that take off to the air with your appearance forming a living cloud.

On this tour, you will transfer directly from your hotel to the boat and spend the day sunbathing, snorkeling, and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. Price includes a transfer from the hotel to the venue and back to the hotel, beverages, and light food.

Tour Option 1
Saklıkent and Tlos Ancient City Day Trip from Fethiye – Full-day (~10 hours)

Saklıkent tour is a 10-hour excursion from Fethiye and Ölüdeniz that visits the Saklikent Canyon, Tlos Ancient City, and Yakapark.

Tour to Tlos and Saklıkent from Fethiye – discover the mysteries of the ancient world.

Undoubtedly, lying on the sand or swimming in the sea is an unmissable part of any holiday. But should you spend all your days the same way? We invite you to experience something new and surprising, to discover something that is just around the corner and simply beautiful.

Let’s take you on a tour of the ancient world in the Fethiye area. The first stop on the tour is the ancient city of Tlos (just think how old it is – it’s over 4,000 years old!), one of the largest cities of Lycia, a country that was situated several millennia ago in south-west Turkey. Surprisingly, there are many ruins left of this city, and they are quite well preserved despite their age. Arches, rock tombs, necropolises, colonnades, and entire buildings. Some tombs are so expertly made that they resemble entire temples! The Seven Doors Rotunda alone is a sight to behold. Yes, there is a lot to see and learn here, especially as we will have a professional English-speaking guide with us during the whole tour.

After getting hungry we head to a park near the village of Yaka. It is a beautiful park with flowering alleys and a lot of fancy waterfalls, sprawling trees, and ponds full of trout. Also, as on any tour, you can choose from chicken and vegetarian dishes on the lunch menu.

After some rest, we head off on our next adventure into the Saklıkent Gorge, 45 km from Fethiye. It is a true wonder of nature. It is 18 km long and the cliffs are about 300 metres high. It is the second-largest canyon in Europe and one of the biggest in the world! The clearest spring water runs along the bottom of the canyon. There are 16 caves and several waterfalls. Just imagine walking through this giant scenic corridor on special bridges. It is now a National Park of 12390 hectares. The mud at the bottom of the gorge is believed to have healing powers. Indeed this ancient and beautiful gorge houses so much more than ice-cold water and rocky cliffs. It is also the home of many legends throughout history. The name ‘Tlos’ means lost city in English and it is along this route you will encounter the ancient city of Tlos itself. Known since antiquity it was built by the Hittites as far back as 14th century BC. And became one of the most important cities of renown to the Lycians. The rock tombs can still be seen from this ancient time when modern Turkey was known as ancient Greece. Then came the Romans who added further to the buildings of the antique city. The agora and amphitheater can still be seen today. Later during the time of the Ottoman Empire, ‘Bloody’ Ali ruled in Tlos, but perhaps the most interesting of Tlos history took place during the time of Greek Legends when Bellerophon slew the Chimera, a much-feared monster, to the great joy of the people of Tlos, whereupon he then established a royal dynasty in the city. Today you can still see the plant-covered luxury villas of past times, haunting the landscape.

Both transfers (to and from your hotel) are included in the price of this tour, as are the services of a guide and lunch.

Telmessos Ancient City – Half-day

Telmessos was a flourishing city in the west of Lycia, on the Gulf of Fethiye. It was famed for its school of diviners, consulted among others by the Lydian king Croesus, before declaring war against Cyrus, and by Alexander the Great, when he came to the town after the siege of Halicarnassus.
As mentioned in the ancient sources, there was a big theatre in Telmessos. During the drill excavations carried on by the Directorate General of Fethiye Museum in 1993, the seats of the theatre were found 3-4 meters under the soil layers formed because of erosion. After the excavations concluded in 1995, all the extant remains of the theatre were
re-surfaced. Built-in the early Roman Period and repaired in 2000 AD, it is known that the theatre with a capacity of 5000 seats was used as an arena. At present, the theatre has a seating capacity of 1500 people.

The Ghost Town- Half-day

The Ghost Town Kayakoy village in Turkey stretches along the hillside not far from the ruins of Lycian city Karmylassos (or another Lycian settlement since according to some sources there is no proof that it was exactly Karmylassos) in 12 km from the hotel. So what is Kayakoy Ghost Town history? In the XVIII century Greeks arrived here from Dodecanese Islands and founded a town here, it’s name was Levissi. In this quite a large town with about 3.500 homes the Greeks lived for centuries. In 1923 when the city had about 6,000 Greeks the “population exchange” was started between Greece and Turkey the Greeks were forced to leave the town. Kayakoy Ghost Town in Turkey was recognized as one of the World TOP 10 Ghost Towns according to National Geographic – a world leader in geography, cartography and exploration.

Following the Kayakoy history after the departure of the Greeks the Levissi city was renamed in a Kayakoy by name of a nearby valley – Kaya Cukuru (pothole from Turkish) and vacant houses were populated with Muslims that came from Macedonia. However the Macedonians did not like Kayakoy Turkey and they left the village – Kayakoy village became the largest abandoned Greek village of Asia Minor and it is called Kayakoy Ghost Town or Kayakoy Village.

Now Kayakoy Ghost Town in Turkey is open-air museum with about 500 preserved houses and three churches. The largest of them is the Basilica of Panayia Pyrgiotissa (has been built in 1888) is located on the right of the main street – it is really difficult to pass by this impressive building in the Gothic style. It takes your breath away when you come inside and see nobody but the bare walls.

There numerous small restaurants and cafes in the vicinity of Kayakoy Turkey where you may have a break on open air. In some restaurants you can may get a brazier at your table cook lamb, chicken, beef, vegetables etc yourself.
